Tai-Hsuan Wu, also known as Coco, is a Taiwanese-New Zealand artist whose work transports viewers into an enchanted world where animals are brought to life with deeply human personalities. Specializing in oil and acrylic painting, Coco captures the spirit and beauty of nature, with a particular love for cats, who often serve as the muse for her artwork. Her paintings evoke a sense of wonder, blending surrealism and whimsy to create scenes that feel like fairy tales. In these pieces, animals appear as expressive beings with emotions, dreams, and stories, inviting the viewer to connect on an emotional level.

Coco’s creative process begins with careful observation. She studies each animal’s movements, expressions, and quirks, imagining them as part of a hidden, magical world. Her goal is to depict animals in a way that honors their intelligence and spirit, presenting them as human-like figures to emphasize their personalities. Drawing inspiration from both Taiwanese and New Zealand cultures, Coco infuses her work with a unique blend of colors and compositions, reflecting the vibrant landscapes of Taiwan and the serene natural beauty of New Zealand.

In addition to her personal artwork, Coco is the founder of Little Paws Art, a studio dedicated to animal-inspired art. Little Paws Art offers classes for people of all ages, encouraging creativity and self-expression through painting. Coco’s approach fosters a connection to nature, teaching students to see beyond the surface of their subjects and capture the essence of animals in their work.

Through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative projects, Coco strives to share her passion for animal-inspired art, hoping to inspire others to see the magic in the natural world and connect more deeply with the beauty around them.
